Please join The Guild, the emerging professionals and students of ICAA Southeast, for a great opportunity to learn about, tour, and draw one of the oldest houses in Atlanta: the 1856 L. P. Grant Mansion, now home to the Atlanta Preservation Center. We will hear from its director on the recent restoration and craftsmanship that are going into the windows and millwork and spend time drawing the home and details.
The Italianate mansion was built by Lemuel Pratt Grant who later donated 100 acres to the city for Grant Park and is the birthplace of golf legend Robert Tyre “Bobby” Jones.” Now home to the APC, it holds many opportunities for learning about historic craft and preservation.
Please bring your sketchbook and favorite drawing supplies. A tape measure and/or carpenter rule will be helpful if interested in doing measured drawings.
